Letter to James H. Thornwell, Columbia, S.C., requesting assistance from fellow Presbyterian ministers Thornwell and Benjamin Morgan Palmer in selection of a publisher for his eulogy for John C. Calhoun. Coit requests comparison of printers in Charelston and Columbia, "I wish to enquire of you 1st. whether the piece can be published in Columbia as well, cheap, & soon as it could in Charleston? ... "; letter explains that the town council of Cheraw wished to have one thousand copies printed. Coit ultimately selected A.S. Johnston of Columbia to publish his Eulogy on the Life, Character and Public Services of the Hon. John C. Calhoun (1850).
